CTM-500 Configuration

There are two methods for controlling and configuring the CTM-500 modem. The two methods are local access via web browser and remote access via our device management platform: Cypress IOT.

Cypress IOT solution is a secure, multi-tenant platform that allows you to manage, deploy, and monitor devices in one place. As a scalable cloud-based application, you can configure devices, schedule tasks, and automate processes from your desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

1. Local Access via web browser

Configuration of the CTM-500 modem is achieved through a hierarchical web GUI interface. Cypress IOT provides the same hierarchical interface to replicate the experience of being locally connected to the device.

Local Access:

• Connect locally to the modem via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

• Available when the modem does NOT have an active cellular connection or no SIM installed.

Local Access Prerequisites:

• Physical access to the CTM-500 device.

• Modem must be configured to accept connections via local Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

• The connecting computer must allow connections via the LAN/WLAN configuration on the modem.

2. Remote Access via Cypress

Devices regularly "check-in" to Cypress IOT at user-configurable time intervals, such as every 900 seconds or 15 minutes. Device management via Cypress IOT is a near real-time system for device management based on the programmed check-in time. After a device checks in to Cypress IOT, it will apply any configuration changes queued for the device via the configuration/command/jobs interface of Cypress IOT.

Remote Access Prerequisites:

• Users must have active Cypress IOT credentials.

• Modem must be able to communicate with Cypress IOT via cellular wireless connection.
