Working with dashboards
Dashboards in Cypress IOT provide valuable insights by allowing you to monitor and analyze key data points, such as: device summaries, device statuses, critical alarms, recent events, live map and many more.
With dashboarding, you can visualize both real-time and historical data, selecting your preferred date range and interval. This enables you to generate predictive insights that can help you manage and optimize your devices more effectively.
Dashboard Example:
An example of a dashboard might display cellular parameters for a selected asset. These parameters could include:
Cellular signal quality
Cellular band
Connectivity and registration status
This data allows for quick assessment and decision-making, ensuring your devices remain connected and operational.
Creating Your Own Dashboard
To create a custom dashboard in Cypress IOT, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Dashboard Tab: Click on the Dashboard tab.
Create a New Dashboard: Click the plus sign on the right-hand side to create a new dashboard. Enter a name for your dashboard.
Add a Widget:
Click on Edit Mode to enable editing.
Click Add New Widget to start adding widgets to your dashboard.
Configure Your Widget:
Choose the type of widget you want to add.
Enter the necessary data source and configure the settings based on the widget type.
Alias Configuration:
An alias in a dashboard determines which objects (Assets, Devices, Projects, Tags) are displayed or used as the source for Data Keys (Fields/Attributes/Telemetry).
Most widgets will require you to create or select an alias during configuration.
Example: For a table widget, you might configure an alias such as ALL ASSETS and select data keys like Name, Attribute.fwVer, and Telemetry.CELL_SQI.
Types of Aliases:
Single Entity: Select a single asset, device, or project as the data source.
Entity List: Choose a series of assets or devices to be used as the source.
Entity Type: Select an entity type (e.g., Asset, Project) and filter by type (e.g., Asset.type = Site, Asset.type = Vehicle) or by name.
Entities by Tag: Select an entity type (e.g., Asset, Device) and specify one or more tags that the entity must be part of.
Finalize Your Dashboard: Once all widgets are added and configured, exit Edit Mode to view your complete dashboard.
