Reporting

Reports in Cypress IOT offer an additional method for data visualization and data export, tailored to meet specific customer needs that go beyond what dashboards can provide.

When to Use Reports

a) Complex Data Requirements: If your data needs are too complex to be met by dashboards, which are designed for live data with limited aggregation capabilities, reports provide a more robust solution.

b) Data Export Needs: If you require data exports in PDF or Excel format, reports offer the flexibility to generate these formats.

Note: Reports cannot be created by Tenant or Project-level users. For a report to be visible to these users, Cypress Solutions must create the report definition based on the specific requirements provided. The report is then assigned to the tenant or project that requested it.

Report Creation and Assignment

Once a report has been created and assigned to a Tenant or Project, users can generate the report on demand.

Report Definitions

The Report Definitions page allows users to view the reports available to them and generate reports as needed.

To Generate a Report:

Open the Report: Navigate to the report you wish to generate.
Click 'Generate Report': Initiate the report generation process.
Input Parameters: If the report requires parameters, enter the necessary information.
Click 'Generate': Start the report generation.

After submitting a report generation request, you will be redirected to a status page that indicates the progress of the report. Depending on the complexity and server load, the report may take a few minutes to complete.
Once the report is ready, the page will display the generated report with options to download it in the following formats:
- PDF
- XLS/XLSX
- HTML

Generated Reports

The Generated Reports page displays all reports that have been generated and stored in Cypress IOT.

Default View: By default, reports are filtered to show those generated by the current user. However, you can also view all reports generated by users within the same tenant or project.

From This Page, Users Can:

Delete Generated Reports: This option is available depending on user permissions.
View Report Details:
- Export the report.
- View other reports of the same type.
- Generate a new report.
