Physical Mounting
Selecting an Installation Location
When choosing an installation location for the CTM-ONE, prioritize optimal cable routing for external connections to vehicle diagnostic ports, power sources, external sensors, etc. Consider mounting locations that take advantage of the internal antennas. However, in some cases, external antennas may be necessary to ensure adequate Cellular/Wi-Fi/GPS (GNSS) operation.
For optimal in-vehicle mounting, select areas with clear visibility of the sky, such as under dash or under window locations. Avoid mounting the CTM-ONE in areas where materials may shield radio signals.
The CTM-ONE comes with a flexible mounting bracket featuring four 5mm mounting holes suitable for #10 screws.
Â
The mounting bracket contains slots for holding the allen key tool and reset jumper.
Â
Exercise caution to avoid over-tightening these screws, as it may damage the bracket.
Once the bracket is securely installed in the desired location, clip the CTM-ONE into the four tabs of the bracket. The bracket can also serve as a drill guide template.
There are a total of four mounting holes, with a center-to-center distance of 1.75 inches (44.5 mm) by 3.75 inches (95.25 mm).
Accessory Covers and Ingress Protection
The CTM-ONE comes with accessory covers that can be installed to provide ingress protection in areas with excessive moisture and dust. These covers also offer a degree of tamper protection when mounted correctly, using sealed cable glands and properly torqued fasteners.
Accessory covers can be secured with #8-32 screws. When installing, avoid overtightening the screws. The recommended torque value is 8-10 in-lb.
The CLAMP cover is designed for mild sealing purposes; Its effectiveness is not comparable to that of the Drilled cable clamp when equipped with properly installed cable glands.
