The CTM-500 uses external antennas for Cellular/GNSS and Wi-Fi functionalities. Antennas must be chosen considering the application and operational surroundings. Cellular and GNSS antenna ports feature SMA bulkhead connectors, while Wi-Fi antenna ports utilize reverse polarity RP-SMA.
For safety, antennas should be positioned to uphold a minimum separation of 20cm (8") from any individual. If GNSS needs to be used, it's crucial to mount the GNSS antenna where it has an unobstructed view of the sky.
Cellular (4x4 MIMO)
For 5G connectivity, connect all 4 cellular ports labelled 1-4 to suitable antenna(s) that support 4x4 MIMO or use individual “stubby” style antennas.
Antennas should support frequencies from 617-960/1710-6000 Mhz.
Wi-Fi (2x2 MIMO)
For Wi-Fi connectivity, connect the 2 cellular ports labelled 1-2 to suitable antenna(s) that support 2x2 MIMO or use individual “stubby” style antennas.
The CTM-500 supports 2.4 Ghz, 5 Ghz and 6 Ghz Wi-Fi, so select an antenna that supports 2.4/4.9-6 Ghz.
GNSS (1x1)
The GNSS antenna must be an active antenna. It should be installed on the upper horizontal surface of a vehicle or building, ensuring a clear 360-degree view of the sky.
For optimal performance, choose a GNSS antenna that supports GPS/Glonass/Beidou/Compass/Galileo/QZSS constellations within the frequency range of 1562-1612 MHz.
