SIM Card Taping

SIM cards come in three different sizes. However, with the CTM device, Cypress Solutions only uses the standard SIM/mini SIM/2FF card slot for the installation.

In some cases, the 3-in-1 SIM card may not make a reliable electrical connection between the SIM card and SIM reader. This is due to the modular nature of the SIM design. Applying the tape provides a tighter interference fit when installed. One or two layers of tape can be used.

If the SIM is in multiple pieces, assemble in the following order below.

STEP 1

Manually place the different SIM cards into a 3-in-1 SIM.

STEP 2

Place a piece of scotch tape to the back of the SIM card.

The tape will hold the three different SIM sizes together so that they are secure and do not fall apart when inserting into the CTM device.
Cut the remaining piece of tape using a pair of scissors so that the tape fits nicely with the SIM card.

Do not apply tape to the side with metal contact.

STEP 3

Insert the secure SIM into the SIM card slot.

For single SIM card installation, insert the SIM card into the appropriate slot of the dual-SIM holder, depending on the CTM device you have.
