In Cypress IOT, a job is how commands, configurations, and firmware updates are applied to devices or assets. Any changes to a device or asset must be executed through a job.

Cypress IOT allows you to manage your devices through three types of jobs: Commands, Configurations, and Firmware Updates. These jobs can be applied individually or in batches via the Jobs tab.

How to Add a Job:

  1. Navigate to the Jobs Tab: Go to the Jobs tab in the Cypress IOT platform.

  2. Add a Job: Click the plus sign on the right-hand side of the screen to create a new job.

  3. Fill in Job Details: Enter the necessary details for the job you are creating.

  1. Submit the Job: Review the details on the confirmation page. Once confirmed, click Submit to push the job to the selected devices.

Directly Executing Adding a Specific Job

If you already know the exact type of job you want to execute, you can directly navigate to the specific subtab for that job type—whether it's Commands, Configurations, or Firmware.

Each subtab offers a similar interface and follows the same process as described in the Jobs tabConfiguration

To add a configuration, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Specific Subtab: Go to the subtab corresponding to the job type you wish to executeUnder the Jobs tab, select the individual subtab for Configurations.

  2. Add a JobNew Entry: Click the plus sign to create initiate the creation of a new jobcommand or configuration.

  3. Fill in the Details: Enter the necessary job details.Select Devices: Choose the devices you want to apply the job torequired details for the command or configuration.

  4. Submit : Confirm your selections and click Submit to execute the job.

Commands are primarily used for the management of legacy Cypress products, such as the CTM-200 and Oxygen 3. Commands for CTM-ONE and CTM-500 will be used rarely and should only be executed with guidance from Cypress Solutions support.
