The CTM-ONE supports two 2FF style (mini) SIM cards. You can install either one or two SIM cards.
It is advisable to use single-piece SIM cards whenever possible. Many SIM cards today are "tri-cut" to support various SIM card proportions. However, caution must be exercised when using tri-cut SIM cards as the cutaway parts can become dislodged, potentially affecting electrical connectivity between the SIM card and SIM holder.

If a SIM card becomes stuck in the SIM holder, DO NOT attempt to force its removal as this could damage the SIM holder. Please contact Cypress Solutions Support for assistance. In certain instances where the modem fails to detect a SIM card, this may result from manufacturing tolerances of the SIM card. Adding a thin piece of Scotch tape to the backside of the SIM to slightly increase its thickness can aid in ensuring electrical contact with the SIM holder contacts. We can provide SIM tape for this purpose upon request. Read more at SIM Card Taping. |

For single SIM card installation, it is recommended to use the UPPER LOWER slot of the dual-SIM holder. The LOWER slot is referred to as SIM2 slot. The UPPER slot, referred to as SIM1 slot, is located furthest away from the printed circuit board. The SIM slots are positioned next to the battery (if battery is installed).
Accessing the SIM card slots requires removing the battery/back cover. To do this, remove the 4 top cover #4-40 socket head cap screws using a 3/32” Allen key driver (supplied).The SIM slots are positioned next to the battery. (if installed)

Be cautious not to dislodge the battery during SIM removal or installation. |
When reinstalling the battery cover, ensure that the gasket is in place. Tighten the screws in a criss-cross pattern until snug to achieve an optimal weather-tight seal. Do not over tighten; the recommended torque value is 4-5 in-lb.

After installing the SIM card, if the modem SIM LED is flashing (GREEN if SIM Slot 1 is used or RED if SIM SLOT 2 is used), this indicates that the SIM card is not being detected. Please remove and examine the SIM card, add backing tape as described above, or replace it if the SIM card is still not detected.
